This is a short track I made for a class of mine at Full Sail University. When I had to make this composition, we had to use purely synths, so I immediately wanted to make a short song that sounded straight out of a video game!

 

I mainly created the synth sounds with the ES P, as that's my favorite one to work with. It allowed me to explore the possible sounds I could make and I was able to make the perfect sounds for this song. 

 

When listening to this I can picture it being in a Nintendo game, which is exactly what I was going for! Its in the key of C major which is one of the "happiest" keys to work in, and the synth gives the song a retro feeling to it, and with a little touch of reverb everything came together! 

 

The drums go perfectly with the vibe of the song, it keeps it fast and upbeat. The chords are what really give off the vibes of a retro video game. The melody takes it to another level and it really feels like you're standing in front of an arcade game. Then the bass is the glue that holds everything together.
